Salvadoran Refugees
Another story for People Magazine. A Quaker priest is talking with a Mexican official as he tries to trace the whereabouts of a family of Salvadoran refugees trying to get to the United States. The river in the photo is the border between Guatemala and Mexico, and from time to time people were coming across on inner tubes. I didn’t know how all that worked but was just hoping the Federale wasn't going to turn and ask for my film.

A quiet photograph but one of my favorites because of the unexpected pig who wandered into the background.
